Three Day Weekend Round

Some Stats for the Day:
Weather: high 86, low 59
Players: Eli,  Dale, Kaden
Time on course: 2 hours
Post-game snacks: Hot Dog, Gatorade, Chips
Featured in the clubhouse: Broncos vs. Bears
The number of golf balls lost: 3
The number of golf balls found: 3
My Score: 39

Kaden, Eli, and I had Monday off of school this week, so we decided to take advantage of the long weekend, and go golfing on Sunday. I had a very good round, scoring a bogey, three pars, and a birdie on the last five holes. On the ninth hole, I hit over the creek, about ten yards short of the green, and then I chipped in for a birdie! It was by far my best shot of the day, and also of that hole. One funny note of the day was that on hole five Kaden could simply not hit his tee shot in bounds. He kept shanking it left into the trees. He finally gave up and just gave himself a score of ten on that hole. That also happened on hole six and seven. Kaden finally gave up and decided to be Eli and I's caddie for the last three holes. He used a super funny British accent and by the end of the ninth hole, he said he could barely move his shoulders, as he had three sets of golf clubs on them for three straight holes...

First Summer Round--By Dale

Some Stats for the Day:
Weather: high 86, low 59
Players: Eli,  Dale, Kaden
Time on course: 2 hours
Post-game snacks: Hot Dog, Gatorade, Chips
Featured in the clubhouse:
Number of golf balls lost: 5
Number of golf balls found: 6
My Score: don't really know because we forgot the scorecard and I lost count by hole 5.

As you can see from the title of this post and the weather stat, this was our first round of golf of the summer and for Kaden the year. If we would've had a scorecard it would've shown in our scores probably, but unfortunately, we don't have the pleasure of looking back on those horrendous scores. It felt a whole lot hotter than 83 today, and we all baked in the sun. The water station after hole 5 was filled up again after the winter, and we all drank a ton of water. We also had the usual water fight. Once we got back into the clubhouse, I had the best tasting Gatorade of my entire life. I hope to get out on the course a lot more this summer, especially for Wednesday night grill nights.

Cart on Hand

One fun part of our golfing is that although we walk the course at Haystack, we use a golf cart at home to shuttle our clubs between my house and Eli's house.

Another Spring Break Round! --By Dale

Some Stats for the Day:
Weather: high 58, low 33
Players: Eli,  Dale
Time on course: 2 hours
Post game snacks: Peanut M&M's, Gatorade
Featured in clubhouse: NCAA March Madness Duke vs. UCF
Number of golf balls lost: 1
Number of golf balls found: 0
My Score: 42

Eli and I got out for another round today, and we both were looking to improve. And we both did, by three strokes!!! I started getting used to my clubs, and I am excited to play more with them. We both were more consistent, and in a round or two, I think we will both be back to the same level of play that we were at before. After our round and our snack, we headed over to the practice green so that we could work on our short game...

First Spring Round--By Dale

By 4:30, Eli and I were the last ones on the course.
Some Stats for the Day:
Weather: high 52, low 32
Players: Eli,  Dale
Time on course: 2 hours
Post game snacks: Peanut M&M's, Gatorade
Featured in clubhouse: NCAA March Madness Florida State vs. Murray
Number of golf balls lost: 2
Number of golf balls found: 1
My Score: 45

Unfortunately, Kaden is traveling for the entirety of Spring Break, so the next few rounds will be only Eli and I. Today was the first day we got back on the course since last fall, so it was our first time golfing in about 2 or 3 months. I also had entirely new clubs, as I had just switched from kid clubs to adult clubs. Plus, the course was not in the greatest condition. Factoring in all those variables, I was happy with my score. Hopefully, Eli and I are going to play another round tomorrow, so my goal is to improve. My highlight of the day was on Hole 7, over water, where I birdied. My tee shot was about a yard from the hole, and that gave me the easy tap-in for birdie.

golfing on Friday off from school-By Kaden

Today was a great day for golfing and me Dale and Eli had lots of fun. Even though we all hit terribly it was great! While golfing we always like to stop at the water station between hole #5 and 6 so we can have a water fight only to find out that they had taken the water jugs away for the winter :(
So we just kept playing. We got really lucky with our timing, the weather was perfect and around 65 degrees, two days later it snowed half a foot. After golfing, we got our traditional chips and Gatorade.
This was a great time and I shot a 56, My goal by the end of the year is to get 40 or under so I just have to keep practicing.

No School Friday means time on the Golf Course! - By Dale

Some Stats for the Day:
Weather: high 65, low 23 (last sunny day before 6" of snow overnight)
Players: Eli, Kaden, Dale
Time on course: 2 hours
Post game snacks: chips, Gatorade,
Featured in clubhouse: some older guys talking about football
Number of golf balls lost: 1
Number of golf balls found: 2

Today was a teacher work day at CHOICE so our regular trio had a chance to play around. Before our round of golf, we posed for some pictures that my mom wanted to take. We walked down into the creek bed and balanced on rocks in the middle of the stream.  Eli got stuck in the splits in between two rocks and when Kaden and I tried to help him, both Kaden and Eli lost their balance and got their feet wet. I, however, was still standing on the rock. Today we found out the water shack between holes five and six was closed for winter so we had to have a mud fight on hole seven instead.  Today wasn't a great day for me score-wise as I scored a 44 or 46 and my middle irons were just not there. Hopefully I can improve on this next time.
